Enhancing and fast-tracking implementation of Vanuatu’s NDC
Vanuatu has developed the Enhancing and Fast-tracking Implementation of Vanuatu’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) report communicating their enhanced NDC for the period 2020 – 2030.
The first section of this report provides an overview of Vanuatu’s national circumstances, including its geographic profile, climate, and climate change impacts, environment and natural resources, socioeconomic characteristics (population, health, and education), economy, and key economic sectors (energy, transport, and infrastructure (roads, aviation, and shipping), industry, tourism, agriculture, fisheries, and aquaculture.
The second section highlights the Republic of Vanuatu’s long-term vision for climate change and its aspirations along with key policy perspectives.
The third section reviews the assessment of GHG emission sectors in Vanuatu as defined by the IPCC. The assessment includes Vanuatu’s GHG emission profile as reported under the first, second, and draft third national GHG inventory reports. The fourth section includes the sectoral GHG mitigation potential assessment for each IPCC sector and subsectors applicable to Vanuatu.

Marshall Islands submits an update on its second NDC to the UNFCCC
The Republic of the Marshall Islands has submitted an update of its second NDC to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Secretariat on 30 December 2020. This update to the Marshall Islands' second NDC elaborates on new sectoral targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Fiji has officially submitted its Updated Nationally Determined Contribution to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change on 31 December 2020, maintaining its climate commitment to the Paris Agreement for parties to communicate their NDCs by 2020.
In the updated submission, Fiji reaffirms its 2030 target, commits to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, communicates up-front information to facilitate clarity, transparency, and understanding, commits to enact its Climate Change Bill by 2021, and aims to operationalize its National Adaptation Plan.
